The China-Africa Economic and Trade Fair (CAETE, abbreviated as the China-Africa Expo) is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Hunan Province. It is one of the most important trade and economic cooperation platforms under the China-Africa Cooperation Forum mechanism. Establishing the China-Africa Economic and Trade Fair is the first specific measure under the 'Eight Major Initiatives' of China-Africa cooperation, and it is the first national-level, comprehensive, and international mechanism for Sino-African economic and trade cooperation. The fair is planned to be held once every two years. During the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Fair, 81 cooperation documents were signed, covering various fields such as agriculture, equipment manufacturing, infrastructure, aviation, and finance.
Currently, Sino-African cooperation is at a new starting point with new opportunities, requiring new actions. The China-Africa Economic and Trade Fair should seize the new characteristics, demands, and trends of Sino-African economic and trade cooperation in the new era, and make innovative arrangements in terms of conference models, conference ideas, exhibition design, and enterprise matching, aiming to organize the fair with distinctive features, a strong brand, and tangible results. The fair mainly consists of two parts: conferences and forums, and exhibitions. Forums include the China-Africa Health Industry Cooperation Forum, the China-Africa Infrastructure Cooperation Forum, and several trade talks. The exhibition will adopt a dual online and offline exhibition model, with a total exhibition area of 64,000 square meters. At that time, Chinese and African political leaders, envoys, provincial governors, representatives of international organizations, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, chambers of commerce, buyers, exhibitors, experts, scholars, and media representatives will gather in Changsha to participate in the grand event.
